3D printed parts save Lockheed Martin F-35 program $45 million

Lockheed Martin, the global aerospace and defense company, has reported price reduction of its F-35 Full Mission Simulator (FMS) unit by $3 million per unit with the help of 3D printed parts. Amy Gowder, Lockheed Martin Vice President and General Manager, said, “We’re serious about driving out costs and excited to generate continued production savings across all our programs using advanced manufacturing.”
